In certain instances a traditional simultaneous interpretation system is simply not viable. This is where a Tour Guide System can come to the fore. Whilst designed for factory visits, bus tours, museum visits and so on, these systems can also be utilised to allow interpreters to provide their services with added mobility.
Generally such systems operate through RF as opposed to IR technology which allows for the mobility factor. Speaking either directly into the portable transceiver or through a headset microphone, the interpreter listens in to proceedings and interprets for those attendees who require the service.
